Ian Kavanaugh

"All we can do is decide what to do with the time that is given to us."

- Gandalf, (J.R.R. Tolkein)

Ian Kavanaugh was born and raised in West Marin County, in the northern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. Interested in Film in high school, he decided to pursue a B.A. in both Film and Media Studies and English at UCSB, where he is now a Junior. He wishes to either pursue further education in film after graduation, or go directly into the industry as a Production Assistant.

Ian has worked as a Production Intern and Production Assistant for the past two summers now for Investigation Discovery Channel shows such as Wives With Knives, Sex Sent me to the Slammer, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover, and a Travel Channel show called World Access. Though this was good experience, he's more passionate about films and documentaries that can have an actual impact on the world and provoke inspirational, critical thought within the minds of viewers. As for the future, Ian works to find another internship or job that can get him more experience in a different aspect of the film industry. He has also considered studying abroad in countries that have good film schools such as the Czech Republic.
