Ricky Miller is a third-year student at UC Santa Barbara. Though initially intending to major in art, he quickly realized that his interests lie in other areas. He now seeks a B.A. in Film and Media Studies, expounding upon a lifelong enthusiasm toward storytelling and the cinematic arts.
Though born in California, Miller moved several times in his life, rarely staying anywhere for more than a year. This habitual roaming instilled him with a wanderlust at an early age that has informed all of his other pursuits. As a teenager, he enrolled in various summer courses and workshops offered by museums, television studios, and colleges to learn about painting, video production, and writing. He began producing videos for local events when he was in high school. It was during this time that Miller began to understand his inner ambition to create for the sake of creation through film.
After changing his major to Film and Media Studies at UCSB, with a minor in English, he began immersing himself in the creative drive of the campus. Currently, he taking part in a student film crew production, but he is always looking for new outlets. Though unsure of his ultimate goal, he hopes to continue exploring the world after he graduates and aims to become a screen- and creative writer.
