Megan Carter

"What if I fall? Oh, my darling, what if you fly?"

- Erin Hanson

Megan Carter, a native of the Pacific Northwest, just began her fourth year of study at the University of California, Santa Barbara, pursuing a B.A. in English through the College of Letters & Sciences and a minor in Professional Writing with an emphasis in the multimedia track. The reason for Carter’s educational choices can be found in her intense desire to expand her skill set as a writer and eventually possess the ability to write for all established genres. Furthermore, Carter enjoys the study of literature, especially texts and/or narratives written in twentieth-century America.

Carter is currently a Sales Associate at Massage Envy Spa in Goleta. In the past, Carter has worked as a Junior Tennis Coach and Program Coordinator at the Vancouver Tennis Center in Washington state, and a camp counselor for SB Fit Kidz, an organization that works to educate kids from ages 3 and up about healthy food choices, while simultaneously exposing them to a wide variety of sports and types of exercise. Additionally, these opportunities coincided with one of Carter’s primary interests for the future, which is working with children in an active environment. Ultimately, Carter is looking to develop her expertise in the health field and become a life coach, emphasizing a holistic model of wellness, or immerse herself into the innovative world of graphic design and potentially combine that medium with creative writing.

When spare time presents itself, Carter has endless enthusiasm for music, outdoor adventuring, traveling, exercising, reading and writing leisurely, family time and her adorable cat Sammy.
