If you knew you could never fail,
what would you do?
-Congresswoman Jackie Speier
Gabriela Medina is beginning her third year at the University of California Santa Barbara. She is working towards her bachelor's in English and a minor in Education.
Medina has always been passionate when it comes to education and plans to go into teaching to hopefully have a positive impact on generations to come. She believes everyone has the potential to be a leader, which is why she has volunteered for EDGE Youth Leadership since 2011. She is the Recruitment Director for the organization working all year, as well as attending the seminar and working behind-the-scenes. EDGE is a Northern California organization, and traveling for the seminar can be expensive, which is why she holds a part-time job at Buddha Bowls in Isla Vista.
In her spare time Medina loves playing on a local adult softball team as well as exploring the many trails in Santa Barbara and its surrounding area.
