[Benjamin Chan]

"You must do the things you think you cannot do"

- Eleanor Roosevelt

Benjamin Chan is currently a third year studying at University of California, Santa Barbara. He is pursuing a B.A. in Communication, as well as a minor in English with the Literature and Culture of Information specialization, and the Professional Writing Minor with an emphasis in Multimedia Writing.

Chan is currently employed as part of the Rec Sports Marketing Team as a Copywriter. Additionally he is a student note taker for the UCSB Disabled Students Program. As part of the Marketing Team, Chan works heavily on marketing and advertising strategies. Using his communication and writing talents learned from classes, internships, and other previous experience, Chan enjoys working on promotional material and thinking of creative new ways to market the Rec Sports brand

Chan is pursuing a minor in Professional Writing in hopes of honing his talent as a writer, and to better prepare himself for the working world. He sees Multimedia writing as an increasingly important skill in the vastly changing and technologically savvy world. He is pursuing an English minor with the Literature and Culture of Information specialization because he wishes to learn more about the union of technology, literature, and learning. As a writer, these three things are very important to him, and he believes that the more informed he can be in those fields, the better.

Chan hopes to pursue a career in Marketing upon graduating and receiving his B.A. His career interests lie in the entertainment industry, particularly in the gaming field. He hopes to work with marketing for video game publishers or developers, but is also open to marketing for companies and organizations related to electronics entertainment. As a passionate connoisseur of video games, television, and films, he hopes to work with something that he loves in the future.
